Ideal Boilers, part of Group Atlantic, has been manufacturing home heating solutions in the UK for over 100 years and the company’s award-winning Logic range was first launched in 2009.
By 2014, over one million Logics had been installed in homes across the UK and Ireland and that same year saw the Logic range receive two prestigious UK awards – Good Housekeeping Reader Recommended status and the Product of the Year Award in the Household Boiler category.
The Good Housekeeping award saw the Logic range tested by 250 consumers, all of whom had Logic boilers installed in their own homes. The range received praise on performance, ease of use, overall acceptability and overall propensity to buy or recommend the product.
As part of the Product of the Year award process, 11,941 members of the public took part in research conducted by leading market information group, TNS, and the Logic was voted the best household boiler. Consumers were particularly impressed with the Logic because it “helps to reduce energy bills”, has “high efficiency and is simple to run” and needs “minimal maintenance and is eco-friendly”. the specific needs of Irish installers; namely a low system pressure market.
Benefits of this system include being an A-rated appliance on the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland HARP (Home-heating Appliance Register of Performance) database and, being easy to install, it provides a simple and reliable solution for a wide variety of domestic systems. It includes a water flow sensor, fitted into the internal flow pipe assembly, to eliminate nuisance lockout and permit operation at low system pressures.
The range is available in a choice of four outputs (15, 18, 24 and 30kW) and boasts a lightweight design, concealed connections at the base and no compartment ventilation requirement, which means it can be conveniently fitted out of sight in a standard kitchen cupboard. Siting and installation are simple and hassle-free through a simple telescopic flue option, push-and-clip flue turret connections, and a wide range of alternative fluing solutions.
The Logic System IE is fully modulating down to 4.8kW, includes boiler frost protection, half-inch gas connection, pre-commissioned gas valve, and comes with a five-year parts and labour warranty as standard. Weather compensation kits are also available for added efficiency. It has a digital display and simple diagnostics, making problem-solving easier for householders and installers alike.
NEXT GENERATION
The impressive next generation of the Logic range was launched in July, following extensive feedback from Ideal’s loyal installer base. The company talked to heating engineers at workshops, training courses, and via online surveys to ask one simple question: “How can we improve the already successful Logic range?”
Customers called for:

Improved controls and interfaceIdeal’s award-winning designers incorporated all of these requests into the improved Logic range. The new features include a lighter boiler (by approximately 3kg), a backlit full-size LCD or dot matrix screen and fewer components – so less parts to service. A new wireless programmable room thermostat was made available in August, and internet-enabled touch controls will be out in December.
The award-winning Logic range is already the UK’s fastest selling boiler over the last seven years, with 1.5 million units installed. The new range promises improved reliability, exceptional energy efficiency, plus flexible warranty options.
