The new grants are available for wall insulation (cavity, internal and external), attic insulation, solar thermal heating, high efficiency (> 90%) gas or oil-fired boilers with heating controls and heating control upgrades.
The grants are available to privately owned homes constructed before 2006. Homeowners must use a SEAI registered contractor and applications must be approved by SEAI (Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland) before works commence.
“We’re encouraging more contractors to register or come back to the programme”, said John Randles, Head of Delivery at SEAI. “To qualify, contractors need to submit tax clearance certificate, insurance details and a completed registration form details of which are available on our website.”
