Celebrating a decade of progress: Ecoerne’s evolution

Founded in January 2013 – originally as a farm diversification project – Ecoerne recently marked a significant milestone, celebrating its 10th anniversary.

In the last decade, this Fermanagh-based company has evolved, establishing itself as a leading consultancy in renewables. And, by operating completely fossil fuel-free, it practices what it preaches.

Ecoerne’s journey began with a focus on biomass, solar thermal and solar PV technologies, offering clients training in these areas along with MCS accreditation support. Following the collapse of the RHI, the firm expanded into health and safety consultancy providing a full package for the plumbing and heating sector. Alongside its centre-based training courses, Ecoerne offers a unique software programme for clients to operate an H&S management system.

Fast forward to 2023, and Ecoerne has transitioned into the realm of heat pump training.

“During the past few years, we recognised the future lies in the electrification of heating, particularly heat pumps,” explained Denzil Cluff, Managing Director of Ecoerne. “The 10-year milestone is very apt, as it reflects a transition period not only for us as a company, but also the plumbing and heating sector as we all face up to the Net Zero challenge.”

This strategic shift aligns perfectly with its new ‘Introduction to Heat Loss and Hydronics’ course, which launched in September. Designed for both novice and seasoned heating engineers, this course equips participants with the fundamentals of calculating heat loss, sizing heat pumps, pipes, emitters and pumps.

As Ecoerne pursues its mission of fostering renewable energy growth through training and consultation, the future promises increased innovation and expansion.
