Ciaran says one of the most popular products with plumbers is the Installer pack which consists of a litre bottle of X100 Inhibitor and a litre bottle of the X800 Fast Acting Cleaner. The X100 Inhibitor provides protection for clean central heating systems against limescale and corrosion.
Suitable for use in all types of indirect central heating system, Sentinel says the product will extend the life of the system, ensuring maximum efficiency and minimising fuel usage. The company also says that limescale and corrosion are the two main causes of central heating inefficiency, leading to radiator cold spots, boiler inefficiency, a noisy system and a multitude of other problems. Once a system has been prepared using one of the cleaners from the Sentinel cleaning range, it should be protected with Sentinel X100 Inhibitor to prevent the occurrence of limescale build up or corrosion.
The X800 product is a heavy-duty, multi-purpose cleaner that removes corrosion deposits and scale from older systems. Developed especially for use with powerflushing machines to provide a more rapid and effective clean, it restores circulation to old, dirty heating systems and prepares new systems for the addition of Sentinel X100 Inhibitor. According to Sentinel, 1 litre of the X800 Fast Acting Cleaner is enough to clean a typical system of up to 10 radiators. For larger systems, 2 litres should be used.
