The new branch will be headed up by Branch Manager, John Derrig and Trade Counter Sales Assistant, Mark Murray who joined the company in early August, bringing with them extensive experience of the heating, renewable energy and plumbing industry in addition to knowledge of the market in Mayo.
Prior to opening, they are undertaking a comprehensive training programme on key product ranges including Baxi, Firebird, Panasonic, Solar Photovoltaic and more whilst also working in the Galway branch.
This is the first branch opening in the programme of expansion which was announced earlier in the year. The programme will see nine new Heat Merchants branches and four Tubs & Tiles showrooms opening over the next three years. The €4million investment plan also features a 20,000 sq ft expansion of the central distribution facilities in Athlone and is expected to create 75 new jobs.
Alan Hogan, Managing Director of Heat Merchants Group, said the Castlebar branch will “offer convenience and expert advice and service to our customers, reducing their travel times to pick up vital products or spare parts.”
