Aqualla launches new R&D department

New appointments reflect the forward-thinking philosophy of the brassware and glassware specialist...

Product development has always been at the heart of the Aqualla success story and the company has now taken this to a new level with the creation of a dedicated Research & Development department.

Two new appointments bolster the team at the brassware and glassware specialists, with Trevor Reith becoming the company’s R&D Manager and Kevan Savage joining the company’s Technical Support team. The pair’s arrival is complemented with the appointment of Julianna Andrews as Marketing Manager, with the R&D and Marketing Departments working closely together to further enhance Aqualla’s already impressive reputation.

In addition to the new appointments, Aqualla has also put significant investment into a specialist R&D department within the company’s 21,000sqft facilities in Newtownards. Complete with pressure and water flow rates testing on-site, this department will have full working models suitable for training and demonstrations.

“Product development has been vital in the growth of the company and this investment is a major step forward for Aqualla,” explained Steven Allaway, Director. “These appointments will allow us to launch new products. We have always listened to the views of both end-users and installers when developing our products and that will take on added importance with the appointments of Trevor, Kevan and Julianna.”

The complementary skills of the trio match the forward-thinking outlook of Aqualla. Trevor has extensive engineering and reverse-engineering experience and a background in manufacturing and his skillset fits perfectly with Kevan’s background as a fully qualified plumbing and heating engineer. Julianna’s sales and marketing expertise with a leading plumbers’ merchant will also help bring new products to market. As part of Aqualla’s collaborative ethos, the R&D and Marketing Departments will work closely with the sales team as the company continues to expand.

The appointments of Pete Mersh as UK Sales Director and Padraig Carter as Area Sales Manager for Ireland is a boost to the sales team, which already includes Noel Daly, Company Sales Director, Stuart Latimer, Area Sales Manager for Northern Ireland, and Jade King, Sales Co-Ordinator.

Steven added, “It has always been a collective effort at Aqualla and we all focus on playing our individual roles to make sure that the company is a success. From the warehouse and administration staff to the sales team on the road and the new R&D and Marketing staff, our goal is to offer the highest levels of service. All our recent appointments and investment has been on delivering what is best for our customers.”

Established in 2012, Aqualla has steadily enjoyed year-on-year growth. The company’s products include taps, showers, towel warmers, mirrors and associated accessories and the quality of this range is matched by excellent customer service and attention to detail.

Steven concluded, “We have around 50 new products currently in the pipeline and we will continue to effectively grow and develop our range to ensure Aqualla remains at the forefront of the industry.
